The EAB Racing Team has reached an agreement with Italian Fabio Massei to race in the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup this year. Massei tested the Ducati 1199 Panigale at the end of 2013 for the first time and was fast from the first to the last lap. Last year EAB Racing Team signed Italian Fabio Massei in Imola for the remainder of the European Superstock 1000 season.

Massei defended in 2012 the colors of the Dutch-based team also and ended eight in the championship. In 2011 Massei rode successfully in the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup also. He finished ninth in this heavy class. In previous years, Massei achieved very good results in different championships also. He won, for example, in 2010 the Italian CIV Superstock 600 title and scored a second place as wildcard entry during the Italian round of the Superstock 600 European Championship at Imola.

Fabio Massei (STK1000): "I'm glad to be confirmed by Team EAB Racing and happy for the trust they put in me, it's such a good and a professional squad. I tried the 1199 Panigale at Jerez last year and I immediately felt comfortable on it, lap-times were good too. We need to work hard during our first test so we can be ready for the opening round of the season. Our goal is to fight for the title, I know it'll be a hard task but we'll do our best."

Manuel Cappelletti (team manager): "I'm glad to announce our 2014 plans! Fabio Massei has a lot of experience in the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup and we expect he will fight for the podium every race. The expectations are running high, that's true, but we know Fabio for many years and he's for sure one of the fastest in the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup. I want thank all our sponsors, technical partners, Ducati and Team Barni for this great opportunity and for all their support."

Ferry Schoenmakers (team owner): "With Alex Schacht and Fabio Massei we have two riders who can drive along the top in the FIM Cup 1000. So I'm very confident that we will have a fantastic season! Fabio has raced already some seasons for us and impressed nearly every time. Therefore it was an easy choice to extend his contract."
