26-4-2014, Assen (the Netherlands)

Fabio Massei will start tomorrow’s European Superstock 1000 race at the TT Circuit of Assen from fourth position. The Italian made a lot of progression in the first sector and - at least as important - retained his speed in the other sectors. Thanks to this very strong qualifying, Massei is fully confident for the second Superstock 1000 race of 2014. Alex Schacht had a huge crash in the qualifying unfortunately and had to visit the Clinica Mobile for a healthy check. Fortunately, the Dane is able to start from eighteenth on the grid in EAB Racing Team’s home race.

Fabio Massei: “To be honest, it could have been better today because a rider blocked me in my flying lap. But we’re still on the first place on the second row and that’s very important for tomorrow’s race. I’m not too far from the first on the grid and not too far from the other Ducati riders and that gives me a lot of confidence. The weather for tomorrow is a big question mark as rain is predicted. I think we can be fast in dry and wet conditions so we will see what happened during the day.”

The quote from Alex Schacht will - given the circumstances - follow tomorrow.
